These workshops are uniquely designed for each school and year group setting, with the students ability and prior knowledge taken into account. If there are specific mental health needs at your school that are not listed below (e.g. Discussing Suicide, Psychosis, Drug and Alcohol Awareness) then please do get in touch about a bespoke workshop that can be tailored specifically for your students' needs.
This workshop is broad introduction to the concept of Mental Health and Wellbeing. It starts with an introduction to the more commonly known mental illness and has a focus on the ways in which we can take care of our mental health alongside our physical wellbeing.
These workshops are more suitable for students in Year 10 upwards due to a focus on managing stress around exam periods. However, this can be tailored for younger year groups in preparation for future exams.
As with "What is our 'Mental Health'?", this workshop has a more in depth look at the two most common mental health problems in our society - anxiety and depression. It takes a look at signs and symptoms and has a focus on how to ask for help, how to help your friends and how to look after your own wellbeing.
This is a much more specific and issue-focused workshop. We talk about the general range of symptoms that occur with disordered eating and discuss types of eating disorders. Again there is a focus on how to ask for help and specifically where to seek help. There is also the option to have a small talk with a person with lived experience of eating disorder to join this workshop.
This can often be one of the more sensitive areas of discussion for young peoples mental health. As such, this workshop aims to shine a light on the topic - what self-harm actually is - whilst also giving students resources and links to seek help if they feel that they or someone they care about needs help. The workshop also focuses on types of self-harm, causes of self-harm and statistics about it's prevalence in the UK.
Other workshops that have been delivered in schools include Discussing Suicide, Psychosis, and Drug and Alcohol Awareness. This is not an exhaustive list and the facilitator can tailor each session to the learning needs of the students.
